We have seen a lot of change over the years, however our commitment to quality customer care has remained constant. Our team have a history of servicing customers in Ireland for over 20 years, evolving and adapting the business over time to ensure we offer the most relevant products for today’s customer needs.
Our 20 year timeline
2017 has been a landmark year for Avantcard. We launched a fully digital application process for new customers. We were also delighted to partner with Chill Money to offer Irish consumers a fresh choice in personal finance.
In October, our credit team were voted “Ireland’s Consumer Credit Team of the Year” at the recent ICMT (Irish Credit Management Training) Credit Team of the Year Awards. The Award recognises the credit team and the work they have done in managing the new digital journey which seeks to simplify the application process.
In a separate event held by the CCMA (Customer Contact Management Association) in November, our in-house change project team were the winner on the night, competing against a number of blue chip companies to be awarded “Support Team of the Year”.
EVO Banco, acquired Avantcard as a wholly owned Irish subsidiary.
The first Avantcard credit card went live on St. Patricks Day.
MBNA Europe sold the Irish credit card business to Avant Tarjeta, a 100% owned affiliate of Apollo European Principal Finance Fund.
Bank of America acquired MBNA’s worldwide operations, including the Irish credit card business continuing to trade under the MBNA brand.
MBNA began offering personal loans to Irish consumers
Our credit card business was originally established by MBNA Europe Bank Limited ("MBNA") and subsequently re-located to a purpose-built facility in Carrick-on-Shannon in the North West of Ireland where it continues to trade today as Avantcard.
