FAQ Personalised rate - Card
Find the answer to the questions we get asked the most about our personalised pricing.
How do I know what the interest rate of my credit card will be?
Our personalised pricing is designed to find the best rate for you using your financial profile and credit history. Once your application has been reviewed, we will assign you an Avantcard financial profile of either “Good or OK” (16.8% Variable / 22.9% APR) or “Great” (14.9% Variable / 20.6% APR).
When do I find out what my interest rate will be?
Once your application has been approved in principle, we’ll send you an email which will outline your approved terms, including your interest rate and credit limit. There will also be a link to our document hub. This is where you will upload the documents so we can finalise your application and order your new credit card.
What if I don’t know which profile to choose?
You should read the description under each profile and select the one that you think best suits your credit history. The profile you chose is for illustrative purposes only, and your final interest rate and credit limit will be determined once you complete your application.
What if I choose the wrong profile?
Don’t worry, the profile that you select is for illustrative purposes only, and your final interest rate and credit limit will be determined once you complete your application. Once your application has been approved, we’ll send you an email which will confirm your approved terms, including your interest rate and credit limit.
Will selecting a profile affect my credit rating?
No, the profile that you select is designed to give you an illustrative example of our rates. You can also check your eligibility and see a recommended credit limit based on your monthly income and outgoings. We confirm your agreed credit limit and interest rates once your application has been approved.
When you complete a credit search, what information is shown on my credit report?
To see the information on your credit report you can request a copy at ICB.ie
