FAQ’s

Why I am getting a Mastercard instead of a Visa card?

  • Working with a sole credit card partner such as Mastercard, instead of two partners as we do today, will allow us to focus our efforts to bring you the very best offers and service.

What if I want to retain my Visa card?

  • We are confident you will enjoy the additional benefits that will come from our partnership with Mastercard; however, in the event you are not, you can cancel your new card and close your account at any time. Your Visa card will remain active for 30 days from the date you receive your new card.

I thought I had closed this account, why I am getting a new card?

  • There may be a small credit or debit balance remaining on your account which means we were not able to close it fully. Our Customer Service Team will be happy to help if you call them on 0818 409 511.

My Visa card was protected by Verified by Visa when I shopped online, will I continue to have that protection with my new Mastercard?

  • Yes, In fact we’ve recently added more security to your online shopping cart to make it safer and easier for you to checkout when we upgraded our 3D Secure verification system. Your new card will automatically move across to Mastercard SecureCode when you make your next online transaction.

What happens if I continue to use my Visa card?

  • You should start using your Mastercard credit card straight away, as your Visa card will only remain active for 30 days from when you receive it, or until you use your new Mastercard for the first time. After that, transactions attempted with your Visa card will be declined.

Is Mastercard as widely accepted as Visa?

  • Yes, your new Mastercard credit card will be accepted globally. You can also use your card to make regular withdrawals in cash machines all over the world. You can also make over-the-counter withdrawals in banks, building societies and bureau de changes.

What about regular payments that I make with my Visa card like Sky or my healthcare?

  • You will need to update some details such as regular transactions you have set up on your VISA card such as monthly or annual subscriptions like Sky, Netflix or your healthcare, any payments you make to us.
